Meta-owned Instagram has unveiled plans to launch a new ‘Schedule Posts’ feature along with a redesigned website aimed at enhancing the user experience.
Announcement by Adam Mosseri
Adam Mosseri, the head of Instagram, took to Twitter to announce these upcoming updates. In a video shared on his Twitter account, Mosseri provided insights into the new feature and website redesign.
Schedule Posts Feature
The ‘Schedule Posts’ feature will empower creators by enabling them to schedule their posts for up to 75 days in advance. This functionality aims to provide users with greater flexibility and convenience in managing their content.
This new feature is set to be rolled out to creators in the near future, offering them more control over their content scheduling process.
Redesigned Website
In addition to the ‘Schedule Posts’ feature, Instagram is introducing a revamped website design. Mosseri highlighted the motivation behind this redesign, emphasizing the platform’s commitment to offering an optimized experience for users accessing Instagram via the web.
Mosseri explained that the redesigned website will be cleaner, faster, and easier to navigate. It has been specifically tailored to leverage the capabilities of large-screen monitors, ensuring a seamless browsing experience for users multitasking on their desktops or laptops.
Prior Updates for User Protection
Prior to these announcements, Instagram had introduced several features aimed at enhancing user safety and combating abuse on the platform. One notable update included enhancements to the Hidden Words feature, which helps users automatically filter out harmful content from message requests and comments.
Moreover, Instagram provided users with the option to block additional accounts associated with a blocked user, making it more challenging for individuals to reconnect with users who have blocked them.
The introduction of the ‘Schedule Posts’ feature and the redesigned website reflects Instagram’s ongoing commitment to improving user experience and providing creators with valuable tools to manage their content effectively.
