Facebook and Instagram Services Restored After Outage

Users of Facebook and Instagram, both platforms owned by Meta, experienced disruptions earlier, but the issues seem to have been resolved.

The Outage

On Tuesday morning, users reported being logged out of their accounts and encountering difficulties signing back in. Meta’s status page, which monitors the company’s platforms and tools, acknowledged “major disruptions” to Facebook logins around 10:17 a.m. ET. Additionally, Downdetector indicated a surge in user-reported outages for Facebook, Instagram, and Messenger.

Meta’s Response

Andy Stone, Meta’s communications director, acknowledged the issue on X, stating that they were aware of the access problems and actively working to address them. Later, around noon, Stone confirmed that the technical issue had been resolved.

Resolution

Stone reassured users that the issue causing difficulty accessing services had been swiftly resolved for those affected. He also apologized for any inconvenience caused by the outage.

Conclusion

While Meta has confirmed the restoration of services, they have not provided further details or commented on the cause of the outage. Nevertheless, users can now access Facebook and Instagram without encountering the earlier issues.
